Why is Yusuke Kitagawa one of the most-used characters in the world of John Tvs?

Yusuke Kitagawa is somehow a very prominent character in the world of John Tvs. He's already made countless appearances in this channel, from being featured as a somewhat-major background character in Workin' Stiff and Friends, to even having his own series and being the mascot of many things related to the channel's fantasy world. So folks, get ready to (hopefully) have all of your "Who?", "What?", "When?" and "How?" questions answered, because today, we're going to be going in-depth about this subject.

Well, it all started when we purchased a little game known as Persona 5. I wanted the game badly because well... it truly has a little bit of a touching story. How many bad things do you see people do these days? For me, that would be too much to count. Everyday, you see people doing things that well... shouldn't be done. Sometimes, you see people having immoral obsessions with fictional characters, other times, you see people hoarding money and not giving a piece of it away to charity. Even being lazy is considered to be a bad deed; you're not doing anything, you are only sitting there. And oftentimes, the most common of these is gossip. I think we have all got insulted a little bit in our lives, haven't we?

The game itself is about a young boy who the player gets to name his/herself. It takes place in Tokyo, Japan, the hub of Japan's arts and culture. In the game, the boy gets arrested for trying to defend a woman from assault, leading him to be put on probation. Most of the game is about him reciting events of his life to Sae Nijima, one of the most major characters in the game. In the game, you meet many strange characters, such as Morgana, Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann Takimaki, Makato Nijima, Futaba Sakura, Haru Okumura, Goro Akechi, and... ta-da! Yusuke Kitagawa.

The thing is, the game isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. Its characters are charming, the gameplay is fun, and the overall message of doing the right thing even if others think that's wrong is a very potent message. It is even considered to be a main writing influence for a lot of John Tvs series, such as the aforementioned Workin' Stiff and Friends and some others.

Now, my favorite character in the game used to be the main character, best known as Joker. The reason why was because that he is the most popular character in the game, and the one you actually get to control in the game. He also is considered a "wild card", which means he can have multiple Personas on his side, unlike the other characters, who only have one Persona on their side. Unlike Joker though, the other characters' Personas change appearance over time when they evolve into new Personas.

But then, I was introduced a new fiend, who has eventually became a staple character on John Tvs; Yusuke Kitagawa. What made me like him so much? Well, I'll tell you why. He is the first character to partner up with you after realizing that a certain action is wrong. You see, initially, Yusuke Kitagawa is called "Unforeseen Boy" and threatens to call the police if you harass him about his rather questionable obsession with Ann Takimaki. But then, when he sees who his sensei really is, he reforms and becomes good. He even gains a metaverse outfit and a new Persona: Goemon, who later becomes the Shinto deity Susanoo

Another reason why I like him? Well, it's because of his blue hair. Pretty unique for a character, eh? Well, that's a minor reason. The main reason is because of his role as a comic-relief character, but not as comic-relief as Morgana or Ryuji. He is also the most level-headed member of The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, as he suggests more rational thoughts during conversations.

So, what made us want to amplify his comic-relief? Well, I went around telling jokes about Yusuke would do anything that is stupid, primarily because well... not to be mean or anything, but he is a little scatterbrained. One minute, he talks about supernatural wisdom, and the next minute, he talks so much about lobster and women! We basically wanted to change Yusuke so much, that he would feel very different from who we was in the original game, and not in a fouled-up way like what the internet does. Seriously folks, I strongly advise you not to look up "Yusuke Kitagawa" on Google, or else you will end up like this guy right here:

Back to the point. The jokes were funny, so I wanted to experiment more with the character and his wacky personality. I went ahead and started putting him in various works of ours such as our Scratch projects, which ended up making them funnier. I then started making many meme videos about him and I even made him a Skylander!

So, here's the deal. We changed Yusuke so much, that we actually made a backstory for him that explains why Yusuke has changed. The story goes that one day, Joker and the rest of the Phantom Thieves were trying to fight a demon that was too powerful for them. Yusuke got horribly injured, and after that, he quit thievery. Why? Well, he realized that fighting what some people somehow look up too would not be very pacifist of him. So, he departed from the Phantom Thieves and decided to get a new profession: Not having one at all! Yup. Yusuke is job-free and girl-free too! So, what did he do? Well, he gathered up new buddies, these being Terry Bogard, Kurt Wagner, Rikuo Pintura, Homsar T. Rufflesus, and Mr. Happy. Together, these six are now best buddies, as they live in the Griffins' house whenever the Griffins aren't home. Additionally, Yusuke also has more new friends, from Workin' Stiff to Mr. Blobby himself. Most of these "new friend" characters were added after we got into much more series, which explains why Yusuke would ever be best buddies with Fat Albert out of all characters.

So there you have it, folks! In short, the reason why we use Yusuke so much is to make him more funnier and more loveable from his original incarnation in Persona 5, something that could really make somebody laugh... which is a gift from the cosmos themselves!
