Since the holiday season starts with Hannukah, we're going to be talking about some holidays, as well as what we're going to do during the holiday season.
Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday dedicated to the victory of the Jewish people over the Greeks. This holiday is celebrated by lighting candles or oil every night, as well as spinning the classic dreidel. This holiday was even celebrated in the White House.
Christmas is a holiday dedicated to the birth of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated by not only Christians, but also other cultures. In America and other places, it is celebrated through gift-giving, and is also celebrated through watching Christmas specials, and doing all kinds of traditions. It is probably the most vast holiday celebrated in the world.
Ramadan is a holy month celebrated by Muslims dedicated to the Qur'anic prophet Muhammed. This month is usually celebrated by fasting, prayer, and absence of daily activities. This month takes place in April, and is said to be the most holiest holiday in Islam.
Diwali is a holiday in the Indian religions that celebrates the triumph of good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. It is similar to both Christmas and Hanukkah, due to it being a holiday of gift-giving and lighting up a candle.
Question is, what about us? What holidays do we celebrate here at John Tvs? Well, look at this silly picture above to get some hints.
In the meantime, we are going to be taking a break from most of our usual activities, to focus on what really matters: Family, friends, and fun, all gifts from the skies above us.
So, we at John Tvs wish you a happy holiday season, and we can't wait to see you soon for more goodies, including The Toronto Raptors Special!
